Smartwatch maker iMCO is set to release the world’s first smartwatch integrated with Amazon Alexa’s cloud-based intelligent voice service. Aptly named CoWatch and launched through an Indiegogo campaign, this smartwatch is said to pack next-level features, while aiming to be one of the most affordable smartwatches on the market.

CoWatch comes in carbon black and mineral silver cases with options for coloured stainless steel and leather bands. The OS for the wearable was designed and built by Cronologics, a software platform co-founded by Google veteran Leor Stern. It promises to be compatible with iOS and Android with no immediate plans for Fire OS or Windows Phone. The watch is also water/splash resistant, although iMCO instructs that shouldn’t be submerged intentionally.

The first smartwatch to integrate Alexa, iMCO plans to release CoWatch to their early supporters in June with a wider distribution starting in July.

Could this parallel a global announcement for Amazon’s Echo? It might still be too soon to tell, but interestingly on their Indiegogo page, CoWatch includes plans to ship to Canada (with $25 USD shipping fee).
