Amazon has quietly made another change to Alexa settings which may indicate an upcoming international release. In the Alexa app and on alexa.amazon.com there is now a Device Time Zone option. The selections are two step, which allow you to choose Region (Europe, America, Africa, etc) and then the available time zones for that region.

Here is where it gets interesting: Within the region drop down selector there are country choices for Canada, Brazil, Indian, Mexico, Australia, Chile and Other (see screenshot).

Could this be a first step toward opening up Alexa and the Echo platform to an international audience? Here’s hoping (again) for Canada, eh!
