As reported on MobileSyrup a few days ago, Jeremy Clarkson, former Top Gear and current host of The Grand Tour (available on Prime Video) tweeted about Amazon’s potential move into the Canadian streaming video market which could spur speculation of an upcoming Canada Echo launch.

In response to a Twitter follower Jeremy confirmed his tweet and went on to state that the platform is rolling out globally ‘in a couple of weeks’.
Asking for further validation, MobileSyrup reached out to Amazon directly for a comment and received this response:
“We are excited to announce that the Grand Tour will be able to be streamed from over 200 countries and territories around the world in December. ”
Amazon Prime Video in Canada could be the last impediment to an official Canadian Echo release which would provide additional compelling reasons to adopt the platform and push Amazon Canada sales through the holiday season. Here’s hoping that a shining new smart speaker ends up in our stocking this Christmas.
